Coming soon - Green by Design Week - Fall
2009
March 23-27, 2009 Located at Alter Hall (13th St. and Montgomery Ave.)
The sustainable design and building week is centered around speakers, a small expo, a workshop and the launch of SRB's Green Foods Initiative. The speaker series is designed to educate both business and non-business students (arts, architecture, engineering, etc.) about the implications of our current consumption and waste trends and the many opportunities we are given to not only resolve these issues, but to do so profitably.
The speaker series is as follows:
March 23rd Monday 11:40-12:30 p.m. Alter Hall LL35- David Krupp (Gravity Partners) + Jon Costanza (SunPower Builders)
March 24th Tuesday 12:30-2:00 p.m. Alter Hall 744- Josh Meyer (Pekasys, Inc.) + Moti Levi (Chi Sage Systems)
March 25th Wednesday 11:40-12:30 p.m. Alter Hall LL35- Troy Wragg + Amanda Knorr (Mantria Corporation)
March 26th Thursday 12:30-2:00 p.m. Alter Hall 745- Eos Energy Solutions
March 27th Friday 11:40-12:30 p.m. Alter Hall LL35- Onion Flats + Greenable
In addition to the speaker series, we are promoting an event put on by the Alumni Association called "Going Green, Growing Strong" which will be held Thursday night at the Union League.
On Monday and Tuesday we will also be having an expo in the recently finished Alter Hall building (http://www.fox.temple.edu/alter/flash-tour.html).
The expo will feature tables from student organizations who are co-sponsoring the event, as well as The Big Green Earth Store and Pekasys, Inc. In collaboration with The Big Green Earth Store (http://biggreenearthstore.com), we are hosting a design competition. Participants will design an efficient laundry detergent distribution system that will reduce or eliminate the waste from current laundry detergent dispensers. The most efficient system will be replicated and used throughout the city.
